PHOTO FOR THE DAY - TUCSON SNOW

We interrupt the regularly scheduled gem show related photo to bring you a new theme - SNOW! That's right, portions of the Old Pueblo were draped in snow this morning. I spent the first few hours of the day traipsing around town and Southern Arizona shooting photos of snow. Woot! Your first installment will be a traditional one - Saguaros in the snow.

We are so close to getting rain. The clouds are building every day, there is humidity in the air - my hair is starting to curl, and the creosotes are starting to smell. There was even a rain curtain over the mountains yesterday evening. Soon.

PHOTO FOR THE DAY

The Saguaros are blooming now. All these little white specks at the top of these giant pointy-edged bits of desert vegetation. I've always wanted to get a downward view of the ring of Saguaro blooms but have yet to haul a ladder out into the desert. So for now I'll stick to the parts I can reach.
