The photos credits have been stacking up a little lately. Mostly since I haven't posted about them in, oh, over a year...

So one of my favorites: The front cover of  "Rock Star Adventures of a Meteorite Man" by Geoff Notkin. Woot!

This photo was take during the season 3 Iowa episode, for those of you Meteorite Men fans. It's a good read.

As I'm sure you may have noticed, I've been away from the blog for a bit. I've been madly working my little fingers to the bone.

Season 3 of Meteorite Men began airing on November 28. In addition to getting ready for that event, there were a few trips out of town, promotional work and taking the photos for and helping to build a whole new website. BUT, the good news is that there has been much publication of my photos as a result.

Here are some of the locations where my photos have been featured recently:

Meteorite Men season 3. Some of those stills they flash to during the show are mine. Yay!

One of my favorite parts about being on location of Meteorite Men this year was the opportunity to meet cartoonist Lucas Turnbloom who writes the Imagine This comic strip. He joined us on one of the expeditions and we got to spend some time with him. I loved every minute of it. What a wonderful guy. He recently published a 2 week run featuring the Meteorite Men as well as a blog post about his adventures. His blog features a few of my photos.

The entirely new and fabulous website Meteorites.co. 99% of the photos for both the "finest meteorites in the world" and the Notkin Collection are mine.

Another edition of Where’s Suzanne…

I was a little surprised when I glanced at my fabulous Playgrey 2011 greyhound calendar and realized I’m about to change the March photo of Maggie and her ’65 Mustang over to Cody giving me the sultry look while roaching. (Just Google “Playgrey”. Trust me on this.) I am not sure where the first 3 months of this year have disappeared to. I’ve thought of a number of locations and even searched some, but when I checked under the bed, there were just dust bunnies to greet me and none were named January, February or March.

During the past few months, I’ve been pretty busy getting my photos into as many locations as possible. The majority revolve around the recent Tucson gem and mineral shows and Aerolite Meteorites/Meteorite Men; so lots of rock photos.

Below are some of the recent locations in which my photos are hiding. I may not be able to find the beginning of 2011, but I know where the photos have dispersed to.

And last, but certainly not least, the biggest piece of work I have recently been involved in is a book!

WOOT!

That’s right, my photos are gracing the pages of Geoff Notkin’s newest project “Meteorite Hunting: How to Find Treasure From Space”.

There are a number of interesting bits to read on the testimonials page, many of which comment on the photos. Hee.

My personal favorite:

"Geoff has done an incredible job outlining for everyone the art of finding meteorites.....it's what he loves to do best and I'm certain everyone will enjoy the read from the newest meteorite enthusiasts to the most seasoned professionals.....Also, once you've seen the illustrations and photos, it's apparent that [staff photographer] Suzanne Morrison has provided some of the best meteorite photography I've ever seen. Congratulations to all on a job very well done!" — Arlene

I have one photo on the cover and about 2 dozen photos inside. I had so much fun shooting the photos for the book. My favorite is a historic Brenham piece resting casually on an old Nininger book. Check it out. I suggest ordering a copy, it’s a great read.

ETA - sorry about the funky formatting. Blogger has decided all extra lines between paragraphs should be removed and/or additional ones added in. I tried fixing the code but it didn't work very well. Blogger also won't let me fix the broken links at Steve Arnold (www.arnoldmeteorites.com) or Aerolite Meteorites (www.aerolite.org).

Hi there! I bet you have been wondering "when is that girl going to get off her butt and post something new?". I certainly have. Things have been a little slow on the blog posting front because I have been out and about traveling across the country. That's right, I drove from Arizona to Massachusetts; which of course provided numerous photo opportunities. You will be seeing a number of them appearing on the blog over the next few weeks.

This post is actually about where you can currently find my photos, they've been cropping up in the oddest places. So go check out the most recent publications featuring my photos. A number of them revolve around the Meteorite Men TV show. (which is premiering the first episode of season 2 on November 2nd. Woo Hoo!)

WHERE'S BACKCOUNTRY? (Not nearly as catchy as Where's Waldo, hmmmm)

Hi there :) this post is all about where the Backcountry Photography photos can be seen as of late. With links!

I’ve been busy with getting ready for the gem show: working for Geoff Notkin of Aerolite Meteorites and the TV show Meteorite Men, doing the photography for articles written by Lisa Marie in this year’s Tucson EZ Guide, and providing photos for the Denver, Quartzsite and Tucson EZ Guides. (cover and interior pages)

Check out the guides:
http://www.xpopress.com/ez.html

Now up - Backcountry Photography photos on the front page of the Science Channel website! Meteorite Men is about to kick off its first season so promos are on the front page of the Science Channel. http://science.discovery.com/

And, when you go to the Meteorite Men page there are more of my photos. I traveled with the crew on 4 location shoots; Tucson, Odessa, West, and Gold Basin. Most of the photos from those locations were taken by me! Check out the flash banner and photo gallery.
http://science.discovery.com/tv/meteorite-men/

Mr. Meteorite, Ruben Garcia, was on location at the West, Texas Meteorite Men shoot. You can see some of my photos on his website: http://www.mr-meteorite.net/meteoritetvshows.htm. Thanks Ruben for the photo credit.

Also, take a look at Geoff Notkin’s science blog, The Logical Lizard on the Tucson Citizen online newspaper. “Meet the Logical Lizard at Flandrau’s Science Café tonight.”.

And for the biggest surprise in the Backcountry Photography world – I was the videographer for the teaser/interview for Geoff’s speaking engagement for Flandrau Science Café: “From Fallen Stars to Media Stars”.
http://www.uasciencecenter.org/2010/01/08/science-cafe-meteorite-hunters-investigate-the-science-of-rocks-from-space/. Just to answer the question I know you want to ask – yes, that was done in one take; hence the wobbly camera work as my arms started to shake from holding the camera up for so long.
